WeldBot is proud to provide another turnkey robotic welding system. With the help of Fanuc America and Fronius USA, WeldBot made quick work of this system. With the key technology that Fanuc offers with their offline simulation software, WeldPRO the welding path that was used was easily developed and deployed with very few touch-ups or interference issues. While with the help of Fronius USA and the control that their welders offer, previously developed parameters were loaded onto the welder and with a few parameter changes we were able to create some stunning welds.

PROJECT UPDATE: Yesterday we shipped this system out to be installed. We designed it on a common base so that tear down and set-up is streamlined. Once on-site the customer will only need to reconnect a few cables while the robot will still be in perfect relationship to the tooling! Thanks to the power of @froniususa cold wire feed tig and @fanucamerica robotics, we were able to engineer the perfect solution for this application! We recently engineered a solution for a customer that welds galvanized steel, which produces a lot of smoke. Because of this smoke, the Servo Robot's laser was hitting a cloud of smoke and not producing consistent results. We designed a torch-mounted Air Blast Module that incorporated the Servo-Robot mount in its original position, which allowed for minimal touch up on recalibration. Now when the Servo-Robot's shutter opens, compressed air is sent through our Air Blast Module to clear a path through the smoke for the laser.

PROJECT UPDATE: Today we were delivered a large weldment that we had sent out for powder coat recently. Now we can finally start initial assembly on this project!

Today we used our development center combined with

Today we used our development center combined with @abagy_robotic_systems programming software to complete a weldment for an ongoing project!

The Abagy software makes it extremely easy to program the robot without having to manually teach any points on the pendant. The robot checks the part position with a combination of vision and touch sensing before welding the part.

The two-axis positioner in our development center gives us ease of access to the joints that need welded since it can manipulate the part to the robot to achieve optimal weld angles.

With product demand consistently increasing and reaching record highs, Trantech Radiator Products, the USA’s premier radiator manufacturer, needed to update its welding processes. With unsuccessful attempts in the past to automate the welding process, Trantech reached out to WeldBot for help with their unique application. The application posed many challenges including dozens of part variations, multiple materials, part deviation and tight working conditions. However, with the help of industry-leading robotics from FANUC coupled with the CMT cycle step welding process from FRONIUS, Servo Robot’s state-of-the-art sensors, and precision gearbox’s from Nabtesco; WeldBot was able to face and overcome those challenges. FANUC touch sensing with a 1D search and rotate al

FANUC touch sensing with a 1D search and rotate allows the robot to find part deviation and correct the taught path. In this example we have a part sloping down to the right, even after putting a 1/4" shim under the part the robot is able to correct for it. Notice it also corrects for the angle change, this is critical for good welds. Get it done with #fanuc and #weldbot
